In view of previous police investigation reports received from Roorkee sub-jail, Suddhowala jail and other jails of the State that revealed CCTV camera and jammers remain dysfunctional while the escapes take place, State Police are thinking in terms of appointing independent agencies for monitoring CCTV cameras and jammers that are installed at various locations in the jails. As of now, CCTV cameras and jammers are being monitored by the jail officials, said Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Ram Singh Meena on Monday. All possible steps would be taken to improve jail administration, he added.
