Dehradun Police is yet to arrest any of the accused in a daring dacoity that occurred on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday in posh Saket Colony in Dalanwala.
Around half a dozen robbers had barged into the house of a businessman Sumit Tandon and looted the house while holding the family members hostage on the veranda. The robbery had occurred a few kilometres away from the office of Dehradun SSP. Dalanwala CO Harbans Singh said on Sunday that several police teams have been formed and sent to various places to nab the accused since the complaint was lodged at the Dalanwala police station on Friday. He said that police have received some clues on which they are working to crack the case.
Notably, the robbers had broken open the house and confined the family members- Sumit Tandon, his wife Ruchika Tandon and his mother Vandana Tandon- on the veranda. But as Ruchika had tried to resist one of the robbers had hit her with an iron rod. However, as two family members Aashu and Dipali had shouted that the police were coming on being informed the robbers had chosen to flee while taking some jewellery and cash with them.
