Seemingly to balance things after being criticised for acting partisan, Haridwar police have arrested ten persons — seven from the side of the Patanjali Herbal Food Park and three from that of the local transporters — in connection with Wednesday’s bloody clash, resulting in one death and several injuries. Meanwhile police has already arrested yoga Guru Baba Ramdev's Brother Rambharat and court has sent him on 14 days judicial custody.
On the complaint lodged by Dharmendra Chauhan, a local transporter, police rounded up seven more security employees of Patanjali from Badshapur bus station. The arrested are: Bhajan lal of Alwar, Rajasthan; Rajender of Sonepath, Haryana; Ravinder of Jajjhar, Haryana; Avinash of Kanpur Dehat, UP; Rajesh of Bhiwani, Haryana; Jeevan of district Sahajahanpur, MP and Arun of Panchkula, Haryana. All of them were produced in the court on Friday and later, were sent to district jail.
However, at the same time, acting on the complaint lodged by Naresh Jha, assistant manager of HR department, Patanjali Herbal Food Park ltd, police arrested three local transporters —Dharmendra Chauhan Balbir and Baljit — on Friday.
Naresh Jha had lodged complaint against the accused on 15 May. But police had allegedly taken no action. Baba Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishan had raised the issue at a presser on Thursday.
As part of the probe, police took the DPR and CPU of the CCTVs installed in the area where the clash occurred in their custody on Friday. later, in the evening, a STF team from Dehradun reached Patanjali Herbal Food Park for investigation.
