In order to ensure smooth flow of traffic during run for unity programme at police lines on Tuesday, Dehradun district police have drafted traffic plan on Sunday. The people have been appealed to follow the routes to avoid inconvenience while going to their respective places in the city.
Superintendent of Police, DS Gunjyal said that in view of large numbers of visitors are expected to attend the run for unity programme parking venue has been made at Pavilion ground, SSP office, parade ground, water tank campus, near Doon club, MDDA parking near clock tower; vacant place near Secretariat and Mangla Devi School Ground. The parking arrangements for school buses have been made at Gurunanak ground, near Bannu School.
He said that traffic on several routes has been diverted in the city. During programme, rally routes have been made zero zone. Routes of city buses and vikram have been diverted. Vikram plying on route number 2 would be allowed till Survey Chowk and it would return from Survey Chowk towards Chuna Bhatta, Raipur Road. Vikram plying on route-3 would be diverted according to circumstances. Vikram plying on route-5 and 8 would return on its route from Railway Station. Buses plying on route Nalapani-Seemadwar would follow the route as Survey Chowk, Eucalyptus Chowk, Clock Tower. These buses would follow same route while returning. Buses going to Doiwala, Jollygrant would be diverted according to circumstances. Following run for unity rally from Kisan Bhawan, traffic routes are as follows Kisan Bhawan campus, Pulia number-6, Rajivnagar bridge, Fountain Chowk, income tax crossing, Dharmpur Mandi crossing, Aggarwal Bakery, Gurnanak School, crossing, Negi Crossing and police lines gate number-1. Visitors can park their vehicles at vacant place at Kisan Bhawan and ring road one side. No vehicles would be allowed towards Pulia number 6 and no vehicles would be allowed towards Kisan Bhawan from Pulia number 6. Moreover, traffic diversion has been made due to run for unity rally from Vidhan Sabha. Rally would follow the route as Vidhan Sabha chowk, Rispana bridge, Nehru Colony, Dharampur, Negi crossing and gate number-1 police lines. Parking has been made at defence colony road one side, Minakshi hotel to Aakashwani road one side. No vehicles would be allowed towards Vidhan Sabha. Vehicles coming from Jogiwala would be stopped around 200 metres away from Vidhan Sabha road. All the possible steps have been taken to void inconvenience for the commuters. However, People have been appealed to choose alternative routes to reach heir destination, he added.
