The Provincial Medical Health Services (PMHS), the association of Government doctors has withdrawn its proposed

boycott call after the

State health department took back the punitive action against the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of B D Pandey hospital, Nainital Dr G S Bisht on Friday.

The association had earlier threatened to boycott work from Saturday in all parts of State.

The President of the PMHS, Dr B S Jangpangi told The Pioneer that the association decided to take back its State wide OPD boycott call after the medical health and family welfare department decided to revoke the suspension of Dr Bisht.

He said that the doctors of the state health services were agitated the way Dr Bisht was suspended for no fault of his own. The General Secretary of PMHS, Dr G S Goswami said that the association had given a time till 7 pm on Friday to the state health department to take back its punitive action against Dr Bisht.

He said that it is good that better sense prevailed in the department and the suspension order was taken back at appropriate time.

The CMS of Nainital Hospital was removed from his position by the officiating Director of Kumaon Division, Dr l M Upreti on Wednesday for alleged delay in treatment of some injured students.

The PMHS claimed that the delay occurred due to

late response shown by

the ambulance service 108 and unwarranted action

was taken against the Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital.
