Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to celebrate the festival of Deepawali with personnel of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) in the Mana area in Chamoli district ahead of Badrinath near the Indo-China border.
Stating this, the Union minister of state for petroleum and natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan said on Friday in Dehradun that the PM has decided to celebrate this year’s Diwali with ITBP personnel at Mana in Chamoli district, which is last village of India ahead of the China border.
“We may recall that the last year PM Modi celebrated Deepawali with the Army jawans in Jammu & Kashmir.
He has also appealed to the people to dedicate this year Deepawali to the soldiers too,” he said.
Speculations are swirling in the state’s political corridors over the likely impact of the visit on the state, poised to go for election in a few months.
