The pleasant weather in the mountainous regions is attracting an increased number of pilgrims to Badrinath shrine nowadays. As a result the number of visitors reaching Mana village has also increased. This village on the Indo-Tibet border area is said to be the last Indian village in this region.

This comparatively sparsely populated area is teeming with tourists nowadays since the start of the Char Dham Yatra. With heat and humidity plaguing people in the plains, the number of pilgrims and tourists reaching high altitude areas like Badrinath is increasing consistently.

Those who visit the Badrinath shrine also visit nearby tourist attractions like the Mana village which is about three kms from the shrine. This village comprises mostly the members of the Bhotiya tribe who trade in woolens for six months in a year with the tourists being one of the main customers.

About a kilometre from Mana is the confluence of the Saraswati and Alaknanda rivers which is also believed to be the only place in India where the Saraswati river is visible.

This area is also famous for the Vyas and Ganesh Gufas (caves) where the duo are believed to have composed and written the Mahabharata respectively. Apart from these, pilgrims are visiting the various tourists and religious spots which dot this area.
