The district youth welfare department, Pithoragarh, is going to organise panchayat youth sports competition in different blocks of Pithoragarh for three days from Saturday.
Side-by-side, national woman sports competition will also be organised in these blocks from Saturday under the same panchayat youth sports competitions which will continue till November 18, 2013, said the officials concerned.
Chairman of the social welfare monitoring committee and MlA from Gangolihat assembly constituency Narayan Ram Arya, will inaugurate the three day long panchayat youth sports competitions at Government Inter College, Pithoragarh on Saturday, said N K Dwivedi, District Youth Welfare Officer, Pithoragarh.
As many as 40 participants will take part in these sports competitions in every block and to take part in these sports competitions the participants will have to come with necessary documents including date of birth certificates, added Dwivedi.
Boys and girls below 16 years of age will be able to take part in these sports competition, while maximum age of woman should be 25 years to participate in the national woman sports competition, added the officials concerned.
Among others, athletics, Kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, badminton to name few sports activities have been included in these sports completions, the officials concerned further said.
