The National Highway 58 to Badrinath was closed by landslide debris at Hathi Parvat near Marwadi. The debris blocked the highway on Thursday afternoon following heavy rain in the area. The pilgrims travelling to Badrinath have been stopped at Joshimath till the highway is reopened for traffic. The Border Roads Organisation personnel have started work to clear the highway with rain stopping later in the day. According to official sources, the road is expected to be cleared by Thursday night.
