Voting for the third phase of the three-tier panchayat elections in all the districts of Uttarakhand, barring Haridwar, would be held on Tuesday. An electorate of 17,20,006 voters belonging to 2,548 Village Panchayats of 30 blocks of the State would exercise their franchise in the last phase of polls.
The State Election Commission (SEC) has made all the preparations for free and fair conduct of third phase of panchayat polls. The SEC has set up 2,886 polling stations and 3,487 polling booths for this stage. The Commission has declared 364 poling stations and 662 polling booths as hyper-sensitive for this phase of polls, similarly 782 polling stations and 999 polling booths are declared sensitive.
In the third phase 8,50,314 female and 8,69,692 male voters of 30 blocks of 12 districts would elect Member Village Panchayat, Pradhan Village Panchayat, Member Block Panchayat and Member District Panchayats.
The voters of Doiwala and Raipur blocks of Dehradun district, Bhimtal and Haldwani blocks of Nainital district and lamgada, Dholadevi, Takula, Bhaisiachana, Hawalbag blocks of Almora district would exercise their franchise on Tuesday.
Similarly Rudrapur and Gadarpur blocks of Udham Singh Nagar district, Champawat block of Champawat district, Kanalichina, Munakot and Pithoragarh blocks of Pithoragarh district , Kapkot block of Bageshwar district, Naugaon and Chinyalisaur blocks of Uttarkashi district, Joshimath, Ghat and Dasholi blocks of Chamoli district, Devprayag, Kirtinagar and Narendranagar blocks of Tehri district, Agastyamuni block of Rudraprayag district and Pauri, Pabo, Kot, Khirsu and Kaljikhal blocks of Pauri Garhwal district would also elect their Panchayat representatives in the third and last phase on Tuesday.
The counting of votes for all the three phases of the panchayat elections would take place on June 27 in 89 blocks of the State. The SEC has made preparation to display results of these polls on internet this time.
