Commuters were inconvenienced due to traffic jams at various places on Tuesday as police diverted some routes and put barricades to strengthen the security in view of floor test. Commuters living especially near the Vidhan Sabha area faced inconvenience due to traffic jams and barricades installed by the police in their locality as a part of traffic diversion.
As political leaders and bureaucrats and other administrative officers started reaching the Vidhan Sabha after 9.30 am with the session being slated to start from 11 am, police executed the traffic plan. Traffic police were deployed at many places to resolve the traffic jams if they happened. Policemen were also deputed at barricades to stop the commuters violating the new traffic plan.
Road users, including the school students and the office goers, had to walk long distance to catch public transport to reach their destinations.
Raipur resident Sameer Barthwal who is working in a private firm at Selaqui said, “I faced traffic jam at various places around 9 am at Rispana due to VIP movement. I reached the office half an hour late.”
Another commuter Sarita Bisht said, “Each year during Vidhan Sabha session, road users face traffic jams and the commuters like me and others have no option left but to walk a kilometer or so to catch the public transport,” she added.
