People angry with Cong for several reasons: Uma

In a bid to ensure party victory in all five lok Sabha constituencies in the State during the upcoming general elections, Uttarakhand BJP election committee in-charge Uma Bharti tried to test the pulse of veteran leaders as to who would be best choice not only for the party, but also for the State in a State election management committee meeting held at State party office in Dehradun on Friday.

She also claimed that only those politicians having clean image would be given tickets in order to comfortably win the seat. After expressing her concern that the country had witnessed completely dark decade under the United Progressive Alliance regime, BJP will surely taste victory in the upcoming general elections.

“lack of coordination between UPA-II and Congress-led State Government could be easily gauged by the fact that UPA-II is yet to sanction more monetary perks for disaster hit Uttarakhand,” she averred, adding that Congress-led State Government was yet to take effective steps to redress the grievances of all those residents, who faced the brunt of natural calamities despite the fact that more than 10 months have passed since disaster struck the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. “There is anger against the Congress in the country for many reasons, but mainly due to inflation and corruption,” she reiterated, adding that in 2009, when UPA took power, the Congress promised to control inflation within 100 days but the prices of essential commodities have been continuously increasing and months have passed and nothing has happened so far. According to her, the common people are suffering because of runaway high food prices and on the contrary, the NDA government controlled prices during its regime.

She also urged from the party activists to pull up their socks ahead of general elections and to hold series of conclave in the fringe and mountainous parts of the state in order to sensitize masses about the anti people policies introduced during Congress regime in the state and country as well. She also accused the Congress of practising politics by dividing people along religious lines.

According to her, country is looking for change as indicated in the recently-held assembly elections in four states. Exhorting people to bring BJP to power, Bharti said the country was facing a huge crisis of unemployment and poverty despite not lacking any natural resources.

Earlier, BJP State Chief Tirath Singh Rawat also urged the party activists to come forward for creating awareness among the masses focusing party’s ideology. State General Secretary (Organisation) Sanjay Kumar, State General Secretary Prakash Pant, Naresh Bansal, Manoharkant  Dhyani, State Election Management Committee co-convenor Harbans Kapoor and other party leaders were also present.
