In a major relief to thousands of pensioners who were superannuated before January 1, 2016, the State Government has decided to revise the pensions according to the provisions of VII pay commission. In an order released on Monday, the Finance secretary, Amit Singh Negi said that for revision of their pensions, the pensioners should fill a simple form in a prescribed format and deposit it their treasury office from where they are drawing their pensions.
The state administration has set March 31, 2020 as the last date for submission of these forms. Earlier, the state government had set up March 31, 2019 as the last date of receipt of these applications but large number of pensioners had failed to submit these applications due to various reasons. The administration has now directed the treasury officers concerned to accept such applications also which are incomplete. It is worth mentioning here that there are 50000 such pensioners in Uttarakhand who had retired prior to the creation of the State.
