PCC prez mocks Koshyari's talk of BJP forming Govt

Published on:

In response to the reported statement of BJP MP and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Bhagat Singh Koshyari stating that the Bharatiya Janata Party will form the State Government in Uttarakhand, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president, Kishore Upadhyay has termed the statement as a display of BJP’s “hunger for power”.

On Wednesday the PCC chief stated, “The BJP is well aware that it does not have the strength of numbers in the Vidhan Sabha. I would like to know from the MP that if the BJP had the majority in the assembly as claimed, why did the PM Narendra Modi take the unconstitutional action to murder democracy in UttarakhandIJ Why was the President’s rule imposed on Uttarakhand even though the State Governor Krishan Kant Paul had asked the Cong to prove its majority in the Vidhan SabhaIJ The BJP is orchestrating the condemnable task of exploiting its money and muscle power and its advantage of leading the Centre to bring down a democratically elected Govt in Uttarakhand.”

The PCC chief further went on to state, “The BJP does not have faith in its own MlAs because the legislators of BJP are understanding that in case the Vidhan Sabha ends up being dissolved, the BJP candidates in the assembly election will lose their security deposit and have little chance of being elected to the Vidhan Sabha. This is the reason why the BJP MlAs are appearing worried.” Upadhyay also challenged the BJP to approach the PM to get the President’s rule lifted from U’khand and call the Vidhan Sabha in session. He also reiterated his allegation on the BJP for being responsible for ‘staining’ the image of politics in Uttarakhand.
