PCC chief's bid to placate 'ignored' Cong workers

The Congress workers in lalkuan complained about being ignored by the local authorities to the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyaya during his visit here. Attempting to placate the dissatisfied workers, the PCC chief assured them that they would get a chance to raise their issues at block and district level programmes which he too would attend.

local Congress leader Harendra Vora alleged that the Congress workers in lalkuan Vidhan Sabha constituency are being ignored. He further alleged that on the directions of the independent MlA from the region, the Congress workers were being ignored by the District administration. The party workers are not even invited to any Government programme. He demanded that the PCC chief take strict decisions to revive the Congress in this area in order to ensure the party’s victory from the constituency in 2017.

Upadhyaya said that the problems being faced by the party workers in lalkuan constituency would be resolved in the near future. He stressed that the party workers would be accorded respect. The PCC chief said that though the NDA Government headed by prime minister Narendra Modi at the Centre had completed 100 days, the promised good days have not yet arrived though incursions by China and Pakistan have increased. He exhorted the party workers to inform the public about anomalies in the working of the Central Government and development schemes of the Congress. Upadhyaya said that the chief minister Harish Rawat is focusing on the execution of developmental works which are benefitting the public. The Congress may have lost in the lok Sabha elections, but the people in Uttarakhand will continue to benefit from the Congress-led Government in the State.  He exhorted the party workers to start their preparations for the 2017 Assembly polls by propagating the Congress ideology among the public.

Earlier, the PCC chief was welcomed by the Nagar Panchayat head Rambabu Mishra and Congress workers.
