The State Government would start payment of the remaining arrears of the VII pay commission to its employees from February 1. The State Cabinet in its recent meeting had given its nod for the payment of the arrears to the employees.
In an order released on Monday, the additional chief secretary, Radha Raturi directed that pending arrears for the period July 1, 2016 to December 31, 2016 should be paid before end of this financial year.
The amount of the arrear after deduction of income tax would be submitted in the General Provident Fund (GPF) of the employees.
For the employees coming under the new pension scheme, 10 percent amount would be deposited in tier I pension account of the employees in which a matching contribution of 10 percent would be made by the State Government while remaining amount of the arrears would be paid directly.
