The residents of Pauri, Sangharsh Samitis of nine villages, business associations and NSS decided to withdraw their agitation for a fortnight following the assurance given by Negi during a talk at the protest site in Pauri on Monday. The NSS has stressed that the agitation has been temporarily withdrawn after the Health minister assured that the problem of shortage of doctors and need for improved medical facilities at these two hospitals will be resolved in 15 days.

However, the agitators clearly stressed that they will resume their agitation if the problems are not resolved in a fortnight. In November, the NSS had submitted the memorandum to Chief Minister, Health Minister, Chief Secretary and others demanding appointments to the vacant posts of doctors, specialist doctors and technicians in the district hospital and women's hospital in Pauri be filled within 15 days.
