Patients have to wait till holidays over!

Published on:

At a time when the State Capital is reeling under an onslaught of dengue, the only lab of Dehradun engaged in conducting confirmatory Enzyme linked Immunorsorbent Assay (ElISA) test is closed on account of holidays.

The suspected patients of dengue will have to wait till Wednesday to get their reports. It is pertinent to mention here that the department has deployed only one technician to conduct the ElISA tests.

It is learnt the technician Ashish Kimothi was on a leave on Monday hence no tests were done on the day. Further on Tuesday no tests were conducted on the suspected samples on account of Dussehra. On Wednesday too the lab would remain closed due to Moharrum.

Incidentally the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun was not aware about the status of dengue reporting as when contacted he said that he would look into the issue.
