Pass percentage at UVSP goes up year after year

Published on:

The regular improvement in the pass percentage of students of Uttarakhand Board for the last two years suggests that the UVSP is determined to erase the tag of stingy board from its head. The percentage of pass students in Class XII examination in the year 2014 was 70.39 percent, it rose to 74.54 percent last year while this year it further increased to 78.4 Percent.

In Class X also the pass percentage in the year 2014 stood at a pathetic 67.40 percent which rose to 70.68 percent last and this year it further increased to 73.47 percent. The experts are attributing the increase to lenient marking adopted by the Uttarakhand board to show results which are at least compatible to CBSE or ICSE on papers. The Joint Director, Secondary Education, B S Negi said that the  board has adopted step wise pattern of providing marks due to which students are receiving more marks.
