Regarding the case wherein an 11-year-old allegedly molested a three-year-old girl recently, chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) Usha Negi said that parents should take more care of their children in these changing times.

She said, “We are living in a digital world and children at a very young age have access to all the internet websites and new gadgets which they fail to understand.

Not knowing how to use these, they access everything which also ends up in a crime that is influenced by online content.”

Explaining the importance of parental guidance she said, “Parents who are working should make sure to give some time to their children. Also, they should always check where their children are going, whom they are talking to and what are the things they accessing. It also important that joint family culture be revived as grandparents used to teach great values to children.”

It is important to mention that recently an 11-year-old boy allegedly molested a three year old in the Dalanwala area of Dehradun.

The incident happened when parents of both the children were not in their home. Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) chairman Bhavdeep Rabte said, “The medical examination of the girl was done which came positive.

We also did a psychological analysis of the boy and found out that he did commit the crime under the influence of his friends who are older than him.
