The Udham Singh Nagar district administration has set up a committee to look into the matters related to the identification of the Statehood activists who had applied for granting them status of the Statehood activists before or upto December 31, 2012.
The committee headed by respective SDM, and in charge of local intelligence unit (lIU) and SHO of the respective police station will submit its report in this regard by August 31, 2013 said H C Kandpal, ADM, Udham Singh Nagar. It is to note that a committee has already been set up to deal with issues of identification of the Statehood activists in the Udham Singh Nagar district .
After a meeting with the members of the said committee, the Udham Singh Nagar district administration has also decided to urge the State Government to extend the last date set for identification of statehood activists which had come to end on March 2013. The basic idea behind seeking extension to the last date for identification of the statehood activists is to decide how to take up the statehood activists’ identification issue further, added ADM Kandpal.
The matter of fact is that as the members of the aforesaid committee have claimed more than 9000 persons in Udham Singh Nagar, have still applied for granting them the status of the Statehood activists. However, to address the concerns of the people who have applied before or till December 31, 2012, seeking status of the Statehood activist, the Udham Singh Nagar district administration has set up a committee headed by the respective SDM at the tehsil level.
