With a view to deal with crimes against women in the district the Udhamsinghnagar district administration has constituted a committee under the ‘Nirbhaya’ scheme in association with the woman empowerment and child development department.
Among others senior officials of the district administration Udhamsinghnagar including the SSP and the CMO will also be part of this committee to be headed by the District Magistrate. Taking a meeting of officials concerned in this regard in Rudrapur on Monday, Pankaj Kumar Pande, District Magistrate, Udhamsinghnagar, asked the officials concerned to recruit the required staff for this committee as per the laid down norms issued by the Government so that eligible candidates could be appointed.
And more importantly, transparency should be maintained in selection of the candidates for this committee, added the District Magistrate, Udhamsinghnagar. At the same time, the District Magistrate, Udhamsinghnagar also asked the officials concerned to send proposals to the Government for setting up child home and 1098 child helpline in the district. The district administration Udhamsinghnagar also stressed on the need to conduct raids on the ultrasound centres spread across the district time to time.
