The Nainital district administration has set up a committee to probe the death of a Youth Congress leader Kirti lohani when he was being treated here on September 10 allegedly due to carelessness on the part of the doctors attending on him.
Following complaints lodged by the family members of the deceased and the locals, the committee was set up under the chairmanship of ADM, Nainital, the officials concerned of the Nainital district administration said. The other members of the said committee are Deputy CMO, Haldwani, Medical Superintendent, Base Hospital Haldwani, a doctor nominated by the Director, Health and Medical Services, Kumaon, and a doctor nominated by the Principal, Medial College and Hospital, Haldwani, added the officials.
The committee will submit its report after probing the death from all angles, including the role of the doctors, and analysing the postmortem report in two weeks to the district administration, said Akshat Gupta, District Magistrate, Nainital.
