Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Textiles, Panabaaka lakshmi, who visited various ONGC institutes in Dehradun was impressed with the activities of the institutes.
She said her visit to the institutes was a learning experience. lakshmi assured that “whatever support is required from the Ministry’s side, we are with you.”
lakshmi mentioned that after becoming the Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, she has been visiting various ONGC work centres. In this context, she recalled her visit to Mumbai High recently. She visited the premier Institutes of Keshava Deva Malaviya Institute of Petroleum Exploration (KDMIPE), Geodata Processing and Interpretation Centre (GEOPIC) and Institute of Drilling Technology (IDT).
She also met ONGC personnel at Frontier Basin and also visited the ONGC Museum at Tel Bhavan. NK Verma, Director (Exploration), ONGC was present throughout the Minister’s visit.
At KDMIPE, Minister was received by NK Verma, Director (Exploration) and Dr DK Dasgupta, Group General Manager- Head KDMIPE. A presentation was made to the Minister at KDMIPE. The Minister also visited the geochemistry lab, Prof Kalinin Museum and the VRC Centre at KDMIPE. She evinced keen interest in the activities of Institute and asked several questions which were lucidly replied to by Verma.
Among the executives present on the occasion included D Sar, Executive Director- Head GEOPIC and Knowledge Management, MrShyam Mohan, Executive Director-Chief (E &D), Dr DN Singh, GM-Basin Manager, Frontier Basin, DD Misra, GM-Head Corporate Administration, and RK Singh, GM (HR)- Corporate Administration.
lakshmi then visited Geodata Processing and Interpretation Centre (GEOPIC), where she was received by D Sar, Executive Director- Head GEOPIC.
The Minister then visited IDT where she was received by K Krishna Pratap, Executive Director - Head IDT. After a presentation was made to the Minister, she visited laboratory, the Derrick Floor Simulator and the IDT Museum. She also visited the Training rig, NAT 55. She also met the personnel of frontier basins.
She was received by DN Singh, Basin Manager, Frontier Basins. lakshmi then visited ONGC Museum where she was received by higher officials.
