Not keeping the Char Dham Yatra separate from politics, the Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to welcome pilgrims arriving for the pilgrimage with pamphlets informing them about the political scenario in Uttarakhand and seeking their moral support for the Congress.
In the pamphlet to be distributed among Char Dham pilgrims, PCC chief Kishore Upadhyay states, “You must be aware that in recent times, Uttarakhand State has been suffering from natural calamity and political strife which has deeply affected the nature, society and culture of the State. A democratically elected government was brought down as result of a hostile conspiracy. You may also know that any calamity in Uttarakhand is not a local issue as it has an effect across the nation. If the environment here becomes polluted and politics becomes distorted, it is natural to consider this a cause of concern at the national level,” he adds.
Wishing the pilgrims a good journey, the PCC chief seeks their moral support considering the environmental and political crisis as cause for national concern.
