A renowned businessman based in Haridwar reportedly committed suicide on Monday noon, jumping in front of a moving train near Haridwar railway station. Police recovered a suicide note from his body. The body was sent to the district hospital for autopsy.
The owner of famous Mohan Puriwala outlets, Ajay Modi is supposed to have ended his life due to protracted ill health.
According to the police, the accident occurred at railway line near Bhagat Singh Chowk around 2 pm on Monday. Speaking to The Pioneer, CO Sadar Rajeev Mohan said, “On getting information of a body being found near Bhagat Singh Chowk, we rushed to the spot. The victim has been identified as Ajay Modi, 65, resident of Purshottam Vihar of Kankhal police station. A suicide note was also recovered from the spot.”
