Emphasising on the need to ensure full utilisation of released funds by end of the current financial year, Principal Secretary of the social welfare department, S Raju, on Friday asked the officials concerned of the Udham Singh Nagar district administration, to organise camps to make people aware about different popular schemes and to distribute the fixed deposits (FDs) under the Gaura Devi scheme, among the beneficiaries.
Reviewing the progress of various developmental projects being undertaken under district and State plans and 20-point programme in Udham Singh Nagar on Friday, Raju said that the officials concerned must try to get the rest of the amount released soon if the fund released to their respective departments under district plan is less than 40 per cent of the total sanctioned amount so that given targets could be achieved in due course of time.
More so, those officials who are lagging behind in spending of the released fund for various developmental works, must expedite the fund utilisation process, he further said. Stressing on the need to help the people benefit from different Government welfare programmes, Raju asked the officials concerned of the social welfare department to distribute FDs under the Gaura Devi scheme on priority basis.
He asked them to organise camps in different parts of the region to distribute the FDs under the Gaura Devi scheme and make people aware about the popular schemes so that the needy could be benefited with these schemes. However, out of the Rs 55.65 crore approved under the district plan, an amount of Rs 22.18 crore has been released to Udham Singh Nagar, informed Dheeraj Singh Garbyal, CDO, Udham Singh Nagar. And efforts are on to ensure timely utilisation of this fund released for various developmental works, he added.
