The dialogue between Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and the delegation of the activists staging stir against the operation of stone crushers in Maletha and adjoining areas has ended on a positive note on Wednesday.
The meeting was held at Bijapur Guest house in Dehradun. Rawat told the delegation members that instruction has been given to the additional chief secretary Rakesh Sharma for the cancellation of all five stone crushers. ACS has sought three days to act on the instruction, CM added. He further assured them that he would soon visit Maletha to meet the villagers and activists after three days.
Sameer Raturi who has been sitting on indefinite hunger strike on the emotive issue said that the CM had talked to him over mobile and informed him of the State Government’s decision. “I would end fasting after CM comes here,” he said.
