The Akhil Bharatiya Kisan Mahasabha’s district conference saw participants unanimously opposing the decision to turn Bindukhatta into a municipality. The basic problems of the Bindukhatta area along with development plans for the Bhabar area were also discussed in detail during the district meet of the ABKM.The ABKM State council member Bahadur Singh Negi said that the government is meting out partial treatment to the plot holders in the Bhabar and Bindukhatta areas. He exhorted the gathering to plan and execute a movement against the State government’s plans. The tilling and sowing on farm lands, consolidation of plots, compensation for crops destroyed by bad weather, demand for declaration of Bindukhatta as a revenue village, withdrawing the move of making Bindukhatta a municipality and various other issues related to the interests of farmers were among the issues discussed in the ABKM district meeting.
