OPD visitors surprised by clean hospital premises

Published on:

The Doon group of hospitals presented a rare sight on Friday as a clean and tidy hospital campus welcomed few patients who visited the Out Patient Departments (OPD).

The less patient inflow was  apparently due to the Dussehra holiday and hospital looked unusually clean due to the massive cleanliness drive undertaken a day before on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

On Friday the OPDs of the Doon hospital and women hospital were relieved of the usual huge patient turnout. In the biggest hospital of state Doon hospital only 485 patients registered themselves for various OPDs of the hospital. More than 2500 patients usually visit the OPDs of the hospital in a normal day. The situation was similar in the neighboring Doon Women hospital where less than 100 patients registered themselves for OPDs in comparison of usual OPD of 350-400 patients on a normal day. Geeta Rawat of Mokhumpur said that she was surprised to see that there is no queue of patients.

The doctors too seemed happy and could be seen giving extra time on the patients. The less patient inflow in the hospital could be attributed to the Dusshera festival. The usually busy hospital staff was seen engaging in leisurely talks on the day.

The hospital campus too looked clean on the day, the toilets and wards appeared clean and hygienic with properly covered garbage bins. Mahendra Singh of Navada said that he has never seen such cleanliness in the hospital.

He said that the cleanliness drive on Gandhi Jayanti helped in ensuring total cleanliness in the hospital and added that hospital administration and people should ensure that such cleanliness is maintained daily in the hospital.
