Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that Congress candidate for Garhwal lok Sabha seat Harak Singh Rawat is a dynamic leader who can raise the voice for development of the State in parliament and told people they were not choosing a Member of Parliament in the election, but selecting a leader for the future to take the nation ahead. Hence, he appealed to people to bring Congress to power.
Without naming the Opposition candidate, Rawat said that Congress has fielded an energetic, devoted candidate, not the tired and old candidate. Elaborating on the achievements of the Congress-led UPA Government, Rawat said that 14 crore people have been come into APl from BPl category and yet 20 crore are still in BPl and AICC vice President Rahul Gandhi has assured these in the election manifesto. RTI, Right of Education, MNREGA and others are main work to uplift the people. He also elaborated the works of two month and assured that the voluntary land consolidation in coming three years.
Ex-CM Vijay Bahuguna said that there should be no politics in the disaster and BJP had done this in the disaster. No national leader came to Uttarakhand after disaster, only Modi came, but he turned down the request to go to Kedarnath. lt Gen TPS Rawat said that Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha (URM) has been merged in the Congress; so now they will work for Congress. Others leaders' target was BJP and their achievements in the Congress regime and hoped that the Congress will repeat the result of winning all 5 seats of lok Sabha in Uttarakhand.
