Out of a total of 10,569 domestic cooking gas consumers, only about 513 have so far been covered under the Direct Benefit Transfer lPG (DBTl) scheme in Chamapawat district. However, expressing its disappoint over poor progress of bringing the domestic cooking gas consumers under the DBTl net, the Champawt district administration has appealed to the lPG domestic cooking gas consumers to submit their application forms for availing the domestic cooking gas subsidy to the office of their respective gas agency before January 31, 2015.
Otherwise the domestic gas consumers would not be able to get the gas subsidy in case they fail to apply under this scheme within the given period of time, added the district administration Champawat.
At the same time, it has also asked the officials concerned, including the lPG domestic cooking gas agencies to expedite the DBTl process so that all the beneficiaries could be covered under the said scheme in due course of time. More so, the district administration Champawat has also asked the officials concerned to open more counters so that all the consumers could be covered under the DBTl scheme within given period of time.
Besides, the district administration has also directed the officials concerned to ensure adequate availability of application forms so that the consumers could not have to face any inconvenience in applying under this scheme. Meanwhile, in a bid to help the consumers avail the gas subsidy scheme, the Government has already dropped the condition of submitting the Aadhaar card while applying for the much talked about DBTl scheme.
However, since the Government has decided to do online payment of all the popular schemes from the new year 2015, therefore, it is vital for the officials concerned to cover all the beneficiaries under the DBTl scheme within given period of time.
