The online examination of the prestigious JEE mains was conducted at four examination centres of the State capital on Sunday. The online examination was organised on Saturday and Sunday at Uttaranchal University, Tula’s Institute, Maya Institute and JB College.
In the online examination about 4000 candidates tried their luck in Dehradun. The offline examination was conducted on last Sunday in which more than 7000 candidates had appeared in state capital.
Most of the candidates of the online examination were of the view that the question papers of mathematics was trickier than Physics and Chemistry. The candidates are required to answer 30 questions each in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry within a stipulated time of three hours.
The head of the engineering division of Baluni Classes here, Rajesh Tiwari told The Pioneer that the response of students suggest that the online paper was tougher than the offline one. He said that it is expected that the student scoring 104-115 out of total 360 marks would get selected form General category in the elite examination.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Achievers Class, Manu Pant told The Pioneer said that the response of the students suggests that the questions asked were relatively easy. “Since in the online examination we (teachers) do not have access to the question papers so all we do is a guessing game based on the feedback of the students,’’ he said.
Pant also prophesied a range of 105-115 marks for selection in general category this year. The experts are of the view that a student of OBC category could get selected by getting 75 marks while the cutoff of SC and ST candidates is expected to be 47 and 55 respectively.
