One year wait over, lT exam held

The aspirants of lecturer Teacher (lT) examination were happy to see a comparatively easy question paper on Sunday. The much awaited examination for the post of lT in the State Education department was being organised by the Uttarakhand Technical Education Council. The Bachelor of Education (BEd) and Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) level II qualified candidates were waiting for more than a year for the Council to conduct the examination for 950 posts of lTs.

The question paper was divided into two portions of 100 marks each. The part I consisted of General Studies while part II had questions of subjects chosen by the candidates. The lT examination was organised at 33 centres in State Capital. One aspirant Shalini Rawat while coming out of SGRR School, Bindal, said the question paper of general science was easier than expected. She said that most of the questions asked in the question paper were of Class XII standard. Another candidate Mahesh Kumar also corroborated the general view about the question paper. He, however, said some questions in the question paper were confusing and one of the questions had two similar options of answer.

Most of the candidates appearing in the examination expressed their resentment on the fact that there was very less gap between Sunday’s examination and the lecturer examination slated on April 5. It is worth mentioning here that the syllabus of both the examinations is very different. In lT examination the candidates had to thoroughly prepare the subject part while in the lecturer examination only general studies and mental ability questions would be asked.

The candidates expressed that at least a difference of one month should be given between two important recruitment examinations. The other worrying factor for most of the candidates is that the ensuing lecturer examination is clashing with Sub Inspector examination. One of the candidates Mahendra Singh said that it was very unfortunate that State Government was not taking cognizance of the fact that two important examinations and thousands of candidates would be affected if one of the examinations was not postponed.
