One member of a Russian group of tourists died while doing river rafting in Uttarkashi on Saturday. His body was brought by his team members to Dehradun on Sunday where the police took it into their possession for post mortem examination and other official formalities.
According to the Russian tourists, after their 42-year-old male team member died from drowning in Uttarkashi, they had approached the Uttarkashi district administration for assistance but the authorities had failed to provide any assistance to the tourists.
The remaining persons in the six member Russian tourist group said that the apathy shown by the Uttarkashi district administration had left a bad impression on them.
