Police have arrested a person in connection with spreading malicious information in different WhatsApp group about ‘Mission Mahavrat’. The arrested, Rakesh Tomar is a resident of Kalsi in Dehradun.
The police have slapped cases under section 505 (1) B, 117 IPC and 72 and 74 of IT act against him. The accused was put before the magistrate on Sunday from where he was sent to judicial custody.
It is worth mentioning here that after circulation of messages on social media platforms about unrest in police force, the Additional Director General (ADG), law and order, Ashok Kumar had set up many teams to earmark the perpetrators of these messages. Tomar incidentally was arrested in the year 2015 also for spreading messages during “Mission Akrosh” pertaining to pay disparity of policemen.
