Dehradun Police has arrested a person who had allegedly murdered a 60 year old woman Dil Devi with a sharp edge weapon at her residence on Tuesday morning.The accused was identified Dhan Singh Rana, a resident of Bankhala (Sahastradhara). Rajpur Police Station in-chrage Abul Kalam said that police rushed to the spot after being informed about the incident.
Police recovered the body and sent it for post mortem examination. Acting on this case, police team was formed and they succeeded in arresting the accused from the locality. Kalam said that after murdering the woman, the accused Rana had informed the locals about her murder by unidentified persons.
During interrogation he admitted his offence. The deceased was living with her grand daughter in her home located at Bankhala and Rana was also living in the same locality.
During investigation, it has also revealed that few days ago, both had verbal arguments on some issues. Angered with this, Rana murdered her with a sharp weapon on Tuesday early morning, he added.
