Principal Secretary, Social Welfare and Pey Jal, S Raju has directed officials concerned to complete ongoing works including embankment repairing in Udham Singh Nagar before the commencement of the rainy season.
Chairing a meeting with officials of the Udham Singh Nagar to assess the progress of various developmental projects on Tuesday, Raju asked them to complete the flood works including repairing of embankments for which fund has been approved, before commencement of the rainy season at any cost. Raju also asked them to complete the ongoing developmental works in a time bound manner and maintain quality of these works. Reviewing the progress of road repair and construction works in Udham Singh Nagar, the official maintained that those road repair works for which fund had been sanctioned, must be completed before March 2014 so that a better road services could be provided to the public.
He also directed the respective SDMs to monitor the ongoing road construction or repair works in the district so that quality of road works could be maintained. On the issue of drinking water services, Raju asked the officials of the Jal Sasthan and Pey Jal Nigam to take necessary steps to improve the drinking water services before the commencement of the rainy season. Meanwhile, he also advised them to utlise the fund released to their respective departments by March end. Carelessness on part of the officials concerned will not be tolerated, he warned.
