State Finance and Higher Education Minister Indira Hridayesh has directed the officials concerned to complete the construction works of the Directorate of Higher Education building at Haldwani’s Golapaar area as the deadline of the completion of the building is drawing near.
The building for the Directorate of Higher Education was supposed to be completed by March this year.Presently, the Directorate is functioning from the Mahila Degree College premises, Haldwani.
Early completion of the building at Golapaar was vital so that the Directorate of the Higher Education could be shifted from the Mahila Degree College campus to the new building at Golapaar and smooth flow of teaching works could be ensured at the Mahila degree college, Haridayesh said.
The building is being constructed at a cost of `5 crore.Meanwhile, the Higher Education Department has also demanded an additional amount of `1.93 crore for completion of the building. Following the demand of the State Higher Education Department, the Higher Education Minister has asked the Finance Department to release the aforesaid amount in the same financial year.
