Official apathy exposed in aborted meeting

Published on:

The fact that the CM was forced to abort the meeting when he realised that the officials have came unprepared for it shows the indifferent attitude of the officers responsible for solving issues of farmers of the state. One can well imagine the behaviour and intentions of these officers towards poor farmers when they have gumption to attend a meeting with head of state government without homework. It is good that the CM, who himself takes special personal interests in issues related with agriculture and agro based industries, called the bluff  and issued a stern warning to the officials concerned. It is pertinent to mention here that about 70 per cent population of Uttarakhand is directly associated with agriculture. In sync with the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has taken a target to double the income of farmers by the year 2022. As per the Government data 92 percent farmers of state are small and marginal farmers and average annual income of farmers of the state is only Rs  59000. It remains to be seen how the State Government is able to complete such a arduous task with a team of such careless officers
