On the occasion of Republic Day, flag hoisting ceremony will be held in the offices of Secretariat, district head officers, department head offices and other Government offices at 9.30 in the morning.
The main function will commence at 10.30 in Parade Ground. On the eve of Republic Day, employees and officers with exemplary performance during disaster will be felicitated. A ‘Kavi sammelan’ will also be held at Nagar Nigam auditorium. A special one week long cleanliness drive will also be organised. A meeting presided over by the Chief Secretary Subhash Kumar at secretariat on Tuesday was held to arrange preparations of Republic Day.
The flag hoisting in the districts will be done by the Minister in-charge, Ministers residing in the districts, commissioners or DMs. The salute of parade will be taken by the Governor at the parade ground function. Army, ITBP, Police, NCC, scout guides etc will participate in the parade. Besides this, tableaux by several organisations will also be on display. A small cultural event will also be held.
Present in the meeting were ACS Rakesh Sharma, DGP BS Sidhu, Principal Secretary MH Khan, Secretary Information Vinod Fonia, Secretary to CM Bhaskaranand, Aditional Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Radhika Jha, ADG Ram Singh Meena, SSP Kewal Khurana and officers from ITBP & Army.
