Demanding the district administration to arrest of those accused involved in a gunfire and severely injuring two students two days ago, dozens of National Students Union of India activists staged a protest demonstration at Rispana bridge, Haridwar road, here on Saturday.
The infuriated students shouted anti department slogans and asked district administration and city police to immediately arrest those accused, who were involved in the gunfire incident. The student activists also accused the city police for not being able to arrest the culprits even after two days of incident. Because of the protest, the vehicular movements were disrupted for several hours
On Friday, when the students were protesting at Gandhi Park, Dehradun, the city police had assured them to arrest the culprits and action would be initiated against them. But so far no arrest has been made. Meanwhile, the protesters warned that they would intensify their agitation if the police fail to nab the accused in a given time frame.
