The National Security Adviser Ajit Doval along with his wife and son visited his native village Gheedi in Pauri district on a personal visit. He participated in a ceremonial worship of his tutelary goddess in the village on Saturday morning before returning to the national Capital.

The NSA arrived in Pauri on Friday where he was received by senior government officials. He later attended the religious ceremony in his native village on Saturday morning. He was welcomed by the villagers with traditional dhol-damau. During his visit to the Garhwal region, the NSA also met Youth Foundation cadets and provided motivation to them. He acknowledged the potential in the young generation of Uttarakhand and appreciated their passion to serve the country.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Youth Foundation, founded by colonel (retd) Ajay Kothiyal, had set up eight camps in different areas of Garhwal, to train native boys for recruitment in Indian Army this year. This month Army conducted physical tests in various phases across Garhwal region. From the camps which started from December last year, 1143 cadets received training, out of which 953 have passed physical test. The students in camps of Youth Foundation are trained by retired army officers, who have already served in armed forces and are fully aware of practices in Indian army. All the expenses of training and lodging of these students are borne by the foundation.
