He would have never thought that his love for tea would turn into his passion and finally into a profession some day. Doon lad Vivek Juyal along with his friend Rishabh Nagpal has co-founded Dial-a-Chai service and has made tea just a call away.
When asked from where the idea of 'Dial-a-Chai' came into his mind, he promptly replied, "I have been a tea lover since my college days and used to spend plenty of time at the small tea stalls located near my college campus at Ahmedabad. I thought that many times a cup of tea becomes an excuse for people to gossip and share personal thoughts. Then, I thought of founding a home delivery based tea service and finally I succeeded in launching the Dial-a-chai service."
Juyal, who is also a designer by profession, did his schooling from St Joseph's Academy, Dehradun, and thereafter went to NIFT for his graduation. "Designing is just my profession but Dial-a-Chai is something in which I am involved with my heart," averred Juyal.
Around five varieties of special teas including herbal tea are served under this service costing between Rs25-30
per cup.
Other homemade snacks including pakoda, stuffed paratha and noodles ranging in cost from Rs60 to Rs90 are other products available on a call.
Dial-a-Chai service is currently being established in Koramangla at Bangalore and the duo has planned to expand their business to other metro cities including Delhi, Bombay and Hyderabad. Soon Doonites would also be able to avail this service as Juyal has already planned to launch it in his hometown, Dehradun soon.
To retain the home made taste of tea, Juyal has planned to approach women and housewives interested in the business. As per his plan of expanding the business, he would be
starting the venture in tier II city as well.
"I always thought of having a business of my own and Dial-a-Chai was a profitable and low investment business for me. Now people are getting to know about the service and the demands are augmenting day by day," shared Juyal.
He told that the demands are comparatively high on the weekends as on the last weekend alone he had more than 200 orders.
Dia-a-Chai service which is available only on a phone call order would also be availed through online medium as the work of launching a website for the same service is in progress, informed Juyal.
Excited about the public response to the service,
Juyal said that the interesting fact is that customers are provided a kullad free along with tea, which brings a smile on
their face.
Telling about the specialty of his tea, Juyal said that unlike dip teas this one is healthier and harmless for people.
