In a major relief to film and documentary producers, the Uttarakhand Film and TV Programme Producers Association (UFTPPA) has started the facility of film title registration in the State. Addressing mediapersons on Friday, the President of UFTPPA, Shiv Painyuli said that the producers of films, TV serials, Video albums and documentaries of the state had to rush to either Delhi or Mumbai to register the titles but now the association has started the facility of registration in the state due to which both time and money would be saved. He said that the producers registering their titles before March 31 would not be charged any fee for registration. Painyuli informed that six movies have already applied for registration with the association. The titles of the movies are Rerun at Riyalto and Anchal by TV Giridoot production house, Kara by Devbhoomi Films,  Buransh under banner of Asha Films, Mati by M R Films and Merru Mayadar under Rajrajeshwari productions .

Painyuli said that after the declaration of Film policy by Uttarakhand government last year only 10 producers have sent their proposal for shooting. He regretted that only three movies out of these 10 are proposed to be made in the regional languages. The President of the association said that many producers are dithering to make movies due to cost factor.

The film producer present welcomed the initiative of the State Government to set up Uttarakhand lok Bhasha and Boli academy and said that the fledgling regional language film industry in the state would get an impetus from this move.
