Dehradun Police has arrested a novelist allegedly carrying bundles of fake notes in the denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 100 from Bhaniyawala, Doiwala on Saturday.
Police recovered six bundles of Rs 500 and two bundles of Rs 100 denomination from his possession. The accused has been identified as Anil Saxena, a native of Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), said Dehradun Senior Superintendent of Police Kewal Khurana. A case has registered under sections 420 and 406 of IPC in the Dalanwala Police Station. In his written complaint, Sakawat Baig, a fruit vendor and native of Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh) said that to purchase fruits, Saxena used to visit his shop occasionally at Block Colony Chaksah Nagar near Vidhan Sabha Road. Meanwhile, both of them become friendly due to the reason that they were from Baraeilly. Being a novelist, Saxena projected himself that he needs Rs 50,000 for his personal work and Baig without realising the mala fide intention of Saxena lent him an amount of Rs 30,000 as an immediate help. When he did not turn on mentioned date for repayment of debt then Baig got suspicious and started chasing Saxena. After few days, Baig realised that the accused was making an excuse whenever he was asked to repay his money. On November 13, Saxena gave him
Rs 25, 000 in a denomination of Rs 500 with the promise of paying remaining money soon. After returning home, he found that the received bundle was full of fake notes. Immediately he lodged a complaint and later police arrested Saxena from Bhainawala on November 16. Taking notice of the case, SSP formed a police team headed by Sub-Inspector Mukesh Tyagi and got succeed in nabbing the accused from Bhaniyawala area. SSP Khurana announced reward of Rs 1,000 to the team for nabbing the accused. It should be mentioned here that the accused have written seven novels so far. Earlier, he was booked under section 307 of IPC and arms Act and others at various police stations of Moradabad.
