After the Congress MlA Harish Dhami had created a scene on Tuesday, attacking the leader of the Opposition Indira Hridayesh for not supporting his notice on fake citizenship issue, his notice was accepted under section 58 of the rules on Wednesday. During the Zero Hour, he alleged that the citizen of a ruling party leader Bhupendra Singh Thapa who is currently district panchayat member of Paiyapuri of PIthoragarh district is under doubt with the Pithorgarh DM having found his citizenship fishy and taken up the case for scrutiny. Replying to his notice, urban development minister Madan Kaushik said that after the investigation was over SDM had accepted that Thapa was a genuine citizen from Uttarakhand. “The inquiry was conducted during the Congress regime. If he believes that the investigation is not appropriate the present government is ready for a fresh inquiry,” he said.
He also asked the MlA to inform that when the case had been taken up. The MlA declined to answer it, saying that he had submitted a copy to the Speaker. Kaushik said that in case he would produce a certified copy the government would order a fresh investigation into the matter. MlA Preetam Singh Panwar strongly objected to it and said that the minister must accept when an MlA was stating it in the House.
