People, including school children, office-goers and visitors, went through a harrowing time here on Wednesday as normal life was disrupted with heavy showers lashing several places. Mobility was cramped even in towns like Haldwani in the morning with the roads connecting different parts of the region remaining water-logged for hours.
As the meteorological department, Uttaraklhand, predicted overcast sky, many parts of the mountainous state, including Haldwani and parts of the Terai-Bhabar region and the hill areas, witnessed heavy rains on Wednesday. While the monsoon showers provided much-needed relief from the protracted spells of summer heat, the incessant rains have begot humidity across the region.
