Non-bailable warrants for poacher's accomplices

A local court in Ramnagar has issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of two accomplices of notorious tiger poacher Priya Bawaria’s son Satveer and his relative Jhalle Ram who were nabbed earlier this year. It will be recalled that Satveer and Jhalle Ram were arrested on May 8 from the Jhirna range of Corbett while two of their accomplices had managed to escape. Acting on information gleaned from the two poachers, the forest department had recovered four gin traps from the Ramnagar forest division. Their two accomplices who had managed to escape then, Gurdev Singh and Buddhi Singh — residents of Tumaria Dam area in Ramnagar — have been absconding since then. They are known to the Forest Department staff as notorious wildlife criminals. According to the Corbett deputy director Dr Saket Badola, with the court issuing non-bailable warrants for the arrest of the duo, the search for them has been stepped up.
