The nomination process began for the upcoming by-election to be held in Doiwala, Someshwar and Dharchula assembly constituencies on Friday.
As per the State election commission by-election schedule, the nomination process would continue till July 4, while the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be conducted on July 5, officials of the district election office, Pithoragarh said.
Subsequently, candidates may withdraw from the fray till July 7.
However, the voting will take place on July 21 followed by counting of votes on July 25, added the officials concerned of the district election office, Pithoragarh.
Meanwhile, zonal and sector magistrates for the bypolls in Dharchula assembly constituency, will be appointed till June 30, the officials said.
In a bid to conduct the bypolls for the Dharchula assembly constituency in a free, fair and smooth manner in next month, the district election office, Pithoragarh, has appointed polling personnel to look after the by poll process.
In this process, CDO Anand Srivastav has been appointed as nodal officer, polling personnel, while District Education Officer, Mukul Sati, has been appointed as the nodal officer to look after training of the polling personnel, officials of the district election office, Pithoragarh, said.
Similarly, PK Arya, ADM, has been appointed as nodal officer, modal code of conduct, EVM and law and order, added the officials concerned of the district election office, Pithoragarh.
Meanwhile, HP Gangwar, Senior Treasury Officer, will work as nodal officer, election expenditure for the Dharchula bypolls, officials of the district election office, Pithoragarh, said.
At the same time, NS Bisht, District Information Officer, Pithoragarh, has been appointed as nodal officer, media/publicity, while JC Joshi, Statics officer, has been appointed nodal officer, grievance cell and control room, the officials said.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dhanpat Kumar and RS Chaudhary, Principal, ITI, have been appointed as Officers in-charge to deal with EVM training of the polling personnel, while Deputy Superintendent of
Police H C Sati and District Supply Officer, Manoj Barman, have been appointed as Officers in charge, transport arrangement for the by poll, further said the district election office, Pithoragarh.
In this process, SDM Dharchula Pramod Kumar and SDM Munsyari, AK Shukla, have been appointed as Officers in charge model code of conduct, while Senior Project Officer, UREDA, PK Gangwar, and Assistant Engineer, PWD, lalit Kumar have been appointed respectively as General Observer and Observer (election expenditure), added the officials concerned.
